Ashantis are admired for their business drive and hardworking nature. It’s no surprise many children whose parents were businessmen & women grew up wanting to be just like them even if they have to combine it with a professional job. Well, I have on the guest seat today a gentleman who falls into such category and I’m about to throw him 10 Questions as usual
Good morning Ernest and welcome to 10QFNC
Good morning Alby and thank you
Q1. How would you introduce yourself?
Well, where should I start from? I’m Oduro Ernest Kwaku a native of Bomfa in the Afigya Kwabre district. I’m the eldest of 7 siblings. I like watching movies, a fan of sports especially football and like outing as well.
Personally I don’t look down on anyone because I believe in time, I may not know who I would need help from.
Q2. Did you grow being under pressure to cater for you younger siblings?
I never had that experience. I won’t say we were comfortable enough then, but my parents always made it possible to put food on the table for my siblings and I
Q3. What’s your level of education?
I have a first degree in Forest Resources Technology which I’m not practising though. This is because I love it more in the business world than working to be paid monthly.😄😄
Now that you’ve gone there…
Q4. What do you then do for a living?
Currently managing some family businesses;
•A pharmacy shop.
•A mother care shop
•A plastic shop ie plastic bowls, dustbins, just to mention a few.
Did you always plan to do the business after university?
Oh yeah. I started following dad’s footsteps right after JHS and I have been with him for 15 years now in the business. This made me develop some passion for the business
Q5. How do you feel about the Kumerican trend?
As a proud Kumerican, I feel happy whenever I hear people talking about us. At least my people have been able to make us very popular in Ghana but I see it like it hasn’t come to stay. The name Kumerica will just disappear in the nearby future. Guess you are a proud Kumerican too?
You bet
Q6. Do you have family of your own?
Not yet and I wish to create one soon.
I am in a relationship. I have been in many relationships and all of them turned out to be something else. It didn’t go how I expected so when I met her, I made up my mind she’s the last. No matter what, I will have to settle down with her. She’s a good girl and will be a great wife and mother.
Q7. Lets go back a little. Are all your siblings aside those still in school into the family business as well?
It’s actually just me. The rest are still in school
Q8. Which places are your 3 top picks to unwind on weekends in Kumasi?
Oh!!! Just Kumasi?
1. There’s a cool place at Ahodwo called 808. It’s a nice place
2. Basement inside the Kumasi City Mall
3. Ike’s cafe and grill
Let me take you to 808 sometime
Ow nice, I’ll gladly go.
Q9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A business tycoon and married with one or two kids.
Q10. What advice would you give to men who cheat on their wives?
Cheating on your wife is a waste of time and resources. Personally I think its a bad thing to do. They should take very good care of their wives and children.
Ernie, we’ve come to the end of our conversation. Any last words?
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be on 10QFNC. I’m really honoured.
I want to encourage everyone to have a positive mindset; we should keep on doing good and it will come back to Us.
