A cold breeze slaps gently
Intermittent kiss from sun hits melanin
Many children with shirts worn wrongly
Sandals exchanged foot for foot
Dry patched lips and soles
Who cared
On mini rocks in front of houses;
Shared were delicacies for the morning
Some kids told stories of how
Fog quenched their dawn fire
Narration of how meaty the evening soup will be
Oh and the anticipation of candies from parents
Grandmothers and grandfather could be easily spotted
They wore smiles of gratitude
The few adults napped their hours away
Many had travelled long hours
The sound of sheep only foretold the journey
That which tongues were about to go on days ahead
